Studio A: The Control Room

For our Control Room, we have chosen a combination of analog and digital equipment to maximize the quality of the music we record. No one can deny the warmth of an analog console. For that reason, we have chosen to track through an Allen & Heath Saber Plus, 40 in/24 out console. We record on the Mackie HDR 24/96 and Mackie MDR 24/96 for a total of 48 digital tracks. This allows for the warmth of the analog console to be recorded in a digital format that gives us unlimited editing possibilities.

We then monitor and mix through the Mackie D8B digital console, giving us up to 64 fully automated inputs during mixdown. We use the Mackie HR 824 high-resolution studio monitor speakers to monitor our mixes. We also have 48 tracks of Alesis ADAT for ADAT to Hard Disc transfers.

Our outboard gear consists of equipment from many of the top names in the recording industry. Two Avalon Vt 737sp Mono Mic Pre/Compressor/EQ units and an Avalon M5 Mono Pure Class A Mic Pre-amp are available for a variety of uses. From vocals and bass guitar, to kick drum and snare, these units have become a mainstay in studios across the world and are used by artists such as Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey.

We also have effects units from Lexicon, Alesis and Digitech, including PreSonus Blue Max and Alesis compressors, and Antares ATR-1A Auto-Tune Processor units. Our D8B hosts of a variety of plug-ins, such as Antares Auto Tune, T.C. Electronics effects and Final Mix.

Recently, we have added the Pro Tools LE system. This allows for an endless supply of post-production processing, such as Antares Auto-Tune and vocal aligning, as well as many others.
